Display Spending

What events are you spending your time at? What currently works the best for your business?

For some people it is sending out mailers, spending money on print ads and for others it is social media. Others well they go to where their audience is at a specialized tradeshows and expos.

What works best?
The very first thing would be to do a bit of research on what works best at a trade show in Los Angeles. Banner stands, leaflets, brochures, souvenirs, signup forms and a number of other items can be a part of your list. However, maximum priority should be given to those without which you simply cannot attract your prospective customers.

Banner stands are a must for trade shows. They not only work to advertise your business, but can easily be placed outside your stall to grab the attention of any passerby. In other words, they are bound to improve the footfall in your stall.

Banner stand designs
To make the most of banner stands in a Los Angeles trade show, you must consider the quality and design elements of the stand. The design should depict your products clearly, and at the same time have that element that draws customers to your stall. The design should match your specific business, and should also match perfectly with the color and structure of the stall you have setup.

Ideally, try to ensure that your stall and the banner stands closely match the colors used in your logo and other branding documents like the leaflets, magazines and brochures you plan to give out.

Sticking to your budget
Whether it is the banner stands or the other elements that you may want to display and distribute in the Los Angeles trade show, make sure you do not overspend. Trade shows are often good for improving your brand recall, but not always the best place to sell your products.

In other words, do not always expect that you are surely going to earn through sales in the trade show more than what you invest. You will see positive results with time, which is why you should decide on a budget before you start spending on advertisements and promotions in the trade show.

Buying banner stands
Finally, try to buy good quality banner stands for the trade show. If your budget does not permit you, do not go for a low quality option. Badly done banner stands may hamper your brand image.

Make sure you look at what works great, use multiple ways to reach your audience. Look for reliable and quality banner stand sellers in Los Angeles, like OverNightDisplays.com. Online sellers can offer you some very good deals and good discounts for good quality products!

Inflate your business

Creating a solid plan to get customers to notice you takes more than just one part of a marketing plan. Create a multi-faceted plan that includes attacking all of the areas that your audience is. First do you know how to reach them? Do you know where they are hiding? Where are your competitors hitting them?

  • Social Media - create a solid plan on how to get your customers to find you on social media, targeted paid ads, a solid bio, great key words and interests. Lastly, create posts that are engaging and motivating.
  • Website - is your website, clean, attractive and mobile friendly? If your sites, main goal is to get people to purchase off of it ... then make sure your call of actions are clear and that there are plenty of high-quality photos.
  • Advertising - There are many places you can pay to advertise, you can pay to have billboards, print ads in industry specific magazines, SEM, and paying to do mailers.
  • Prospecting - to get clients in the door, you want to prospect to start building your business, make calls to get noticed or send targeted emails to reach your current clients, make sure that the emails are clean, clear and have a great reason to open them.
Reel them in ... the customers that is. Setting up the plan and sticking to it will bring the clients coming and new clients aware of your brand and your mission.

Thinking outside …

Spring is now in full effect in most of the country. Many people are trying to figure out how to capitalize on being outside, enjoying the great weather and how to draw customers with events outside. Hosting a company BBQ, a toy drive or a food drive ... or huge parking lot sale, take planning, consideration and follow-through.

Planning a successful outside event revolves around a few things …

A good weather forecast … prepare for hot, cold, windy … or rainy.
The hot and the cold can be remedied, however super windy and rainy makes it hard to bounce back from.

Besides the shining sun, a few things that should be taken into consideration are …

How accessible is the event?
Is it in a parking lot, a park or even a store front?

Somethings to consider is how publicized is the event. When doing a big reveal or planning a big sale, getting exposure to what the event is essential. Have a local TV crew or radio station come down and broadcast from the location. Raffle off a prize that is worthy to come and check it out. Or if the purpose of the event is to collect or do some sort of a drive, the news crews would be great to have there for the great things that you are doing.

While people are showing up give them something to remember you by or show them how they can remember you, such as branded signs, branded flyers, canopies … something that shouts your company name … besides you.

After the event, follow up on social media, give results or what was accomplished. If there is a "next time" for the event, let people know, they now know what they missed, now they will want to be there in person experiencing it!

Exposure is important.

Trade show ... Conference ... Job Fair ... Oh my!

Trade shows and conferences are great place to display your product or company to your key audience. Some people find it hard or challenging to stand in the same venue or event as their competitors. Using creative ideas to draw prospects to the booth or area at your tradeshow. Your ideas are should be very catchy to attract many individuals to your booth. The banner stands or display should also be eye-catching. This way you will be able to stand out from your competition and promote your products highly in the trade show, conference or job fair (if you are a recruiter). Here are creative ways you can make your booth stand out.

Offer snacks and branded giveaways bring people to your booth …
Getting people to approach your booth is not an easy task, if you have a sales team they can bring people to your booth but if you are small team you should bring other methods of getting people to come see you. Candy is a good way to get people to come to you, it gives you a chance to talk to them while they are reaching in for a quick bite. Snacks and food attract numerous participants and allow you to introduce your products to them. Consider offering branded packaging that has your logo and information, this can be done with peanuts, pretzels and water. By investing in branded items, you are creating a walking display advertisement for your company while they are walking the rest of the event.

Stand out by wearing your company’s branded uniform …
Increase the visibility of your booth by providing your team with coordinating clothing options (uniform). The helps create an image of a cohesive team. On dress shirts or collared polo shirts, you can highlight your company slogan or logo. Such customized attires will help the clients remember your company even after the show. In additional make sure that your uniform coordinates with the products that you are offering.

Banded display banner or sign …
Another highly creative way is displaying the products you offer clearly with banner stands. You can hang them on your booth, put them above it, or place them strategically around it. Placing them above the booth will make your business highly visible. Most of the companies concentrate too much on their booth and around it, but they forget the space above it. You can also consider hanging moving objects, lights, flashing signs among others to improve on your visibility.

Make your booth interactive …
Lastly, make your booth interactive. This will help the participants break the monotony of viewing numerous booths. Stand out, this is your chance to shine amongst your competitors. Use a tablet, TV or video or even a spin wheel for giveaways this will attract many of the participants. Getting interactive will make potential clients feel more connected to your business. In addition, they will be able to absorb in your product information displayed on your banners around the booth. The goal here is to make your products know even long after the show.

Advertise this …

Planning an advertising plan is not a day of fun. Write an effective plan that figures costs, tracking, placement and follow-up.

Creating the plan is easy, just sitting down brainstorm what you want your outcome to be, more sales, product announcement, event announcement or brand awareness.

Personally when planning my plan, I make a whole system to support it from budgeting to location to support materials. For most audiences the highest visibility will be on the mobile and social formats, supported by print game plan.

1.       Social – where is your audience most active … advertise here!

2.       Print – where will you have the most visibility
a.       Are you needing displays to put in front of your store front
b.      Large format vinyl banners for the outside of your building?
c.       Foam hanging signs to hang in your business?
d.      New handouts?
e.      Postcards
f.        Posters

3.       Track – how are you going to track where your business is coming from?
a.       QR Codes?
b.      Check Out or Discount codes?

4.       How is this offer going to benefit both you and your customer?

5.       Following up with your leads … collect their data so you can contact them and turn the leads into clients!

This is just the start of what you can do to get business and a marketing plan together.
What are you currently doing that is getting you business right now?

How much is too much?

Planning marketing materials for your event is not an easy task.

There are so many things to plan for and to do for your event. Look at the things that you want to accomplish at your event. Is the event your own? Do you have the whole space or are you sharing space with multiple companies?

Standing out is important in your event or event location.  Plan on what you want there to support you? Do you need pull up retractable to direct people to you? Do you need a booth, create a space with a pop-up booth.  The use of flooring or podiums will create a discussion place, or the use of document holders will hold your extra brochures, contracts, registration forms and flyer's. Are you opting for a table instead of a podium? Using a branded table runner or table throw completes a nice look and really hones in your marketing for your brand.

So deciding to purchase the right items for your event can be a little challenging. Just start off your planning with who your target audience is, and if you cannot convert them on the first try give them some stellar information and a great impression to take home with them.

Give us a call and we can help you display your self with high-quality and awesome looking signage.

Signage in small spaces

Looking at a shop space that isn’t large is not a bad thing or hard to decorate. There are plenty of ways to get branding across without going crazy. This is a problem many retailers and shop owners face when trying to display their products or services. Trying to maximize space is not an easy task especially trying to get the most out of the area that you have available.

When you are looking at what to paint the inner walls to stick with neutral colors and use your signage and displays as your pops of color. Painting one wall with a right color makes for a bright positive space. This will give the appearance of a larger space. The use of mirrors gives the space a bigger feel, don’t forget when using mirrors you still have an opportunity to brand it to your products and services by using vinyl stickers.

When looking for signage for the rest of your retail shop, we recommend signage that can easily be placed near a wall that won’t stop foot traffic or injure anyone one by being in the way. There are plenty of compact pieces that you can choose that you can use for pops of color and help with your branding.

Placing retractable pull-ups are another great options to direct people where they should be going. You can use them for schedules, announcements or as a decorative branding item.
Utilizing high ceiling by choosing to use hanging banners or hanging displays. There are a ton of options, hanging stretch fabric versions or vinyl and fabric banners.

Give us a call we can create a custom quote for your retail, restaurant or event.

Static Cling

Clings and vinyl graphics are not just used in store fronts they are used all over the place. They are a nice addition to your display arsenal. Clings are a quick hanging display or advertisement to for your brand and event. They are a low maintenance display, and the best part of it they are disposable … store them in a dry place with paper in between each of the clings. When you need to use them again pull them out and affix them where you need to set up for your next function.

Below is a short list of ways to use the clings:

  • ·         Use clings to put your logos on carpet or concrete. Use this option as an added advertisement to your event. Do you have a long entrance to your event? Use them as a directional to get people to the areas that you need. This way is also a nice way to keep your brand in front of them … literally.

  • ·         While on the topic of a directional, affix it to the front of your already printed signs if you have to use your signs in multiple venues use the clings as your directional. Make a series of arrows or room changes with the cling and the static will keep it on your printed display.

  • ·         Clings can create some privacy and help you advertise your store front. Use a perforated window cling that serves as a one way directional look out. It will create a little bit of shade and in your windows.

·         Clings can be used in your home as well. Create a cling for a birthday party, baby shower or as a decoration.

·         Need to get your vendors recognized, print a cling.
Window or display clings can help your image at an event. Call us for a quote (855) 903-2500.

Which one is better … vinyl or fabric?

A question that we often get is which one is better or which one should I pick for this job or for that for this project.

The two most popular types of materials for printing and displays is vinyl and fabric. There are variations that separate the two. When it comes to vinyl it comes in weights from 9 ounces to 22 ounces for printing and signage. Fabric banners however are made in mostly a synthetic cloth, polyester or nylon.

I would suggest using vinyl for outside use, it is durable and easy to install or hang up. Fabric on the other hand is better for inside. There are, this is not only where these two materials cannot cross over into other uses, like for the use of feathers for outside or canopies, they would be made out of a nylon.

Pros and cons of each of vinyl and fabric … when not stored correctly … vinyl wrinkles and bends and folds. Fabric and cloth also wrinkles but it is much easier to steam out with a portable steamer or by gravity if it is on a tension display. Fabric if not printed on the right format or weight will be transparent when displayed in front of a window or with too much lighting … make sure you know where you are display your stands. Vinyl banners can have dirt and smudges wiped off to where, you cannot really do that for cloth unless you dry clean it.

When considering a job for vinyl and for fabric or cloth displays or banners, ask yourself … where are you going to be displaying this and how you are going to be storing it. Both hold endless possibilities for use and for great looks for your business, trade show or conference. Put your best look forward and display yourself professionally with a great display or sign!

Tell a story with your branding

Telling a story is important to any company. There are so many ways that can be used to tell this story, display stands, banners, printed handouts, invitations and products. But when choosing the way to tell your story, thinking of the ways to display the brand and making it go from “cool” to “wow” is the factor many of us are looking for.

When setting up for a trade show or conference you want to have your brand is being shown properly so your prospects and clients know that you are there.

1.       Match … matching your materials is one of the most important steps to having brand recognition.
a.       Logos
b.      Colors
c.       Themes
d.      Wording
e.      Information

2.       Readability … make your collateral readable on every platform that you choose to display it on. If it is a direction banner, you want to make sure that it stands out in a crowd so your clients know where you want them to be. While placement of the display stands is important functionality of your logo and text. If they are too low or not big enough your message and branding can be lost.

3.       Stand out … stand out in the crowd, with your design. Make your event collateral dynamic, and this goes for all aspects of your trade show, conference or private event. Think about how you would like your event to look and the feeling you want your clients or customers to feel when coming up to your booth or event.

4.       Printer … talk to us about your event expectations and what you are visually trying to do. From display stands to pop up displays or even outside signage we a can help you make your event a success.

Having a great event or great display of your brand is important. Leaving a great impression with your clients and potential clients is also important to the success of your event. Remember all of the places that you can display your brand and where you ca use your display stands and signage.

Here is to a successful 2015 and a great trade show, convention, event and fair!

Be prepared! Trade show season is coming

2015 is a big year for change, as you may have noticed we are blogging again!

We want to keep you updated as to what is going on with us and in the industry, we would love to hear from you and what you think or would like to see!

Trending so far this year, we have been noticing people are including multiple pieces and matching their collateral to multiple platforms.

Going with the complete look is important, from branded flyers, podium, chairs, and pens while incorporating digital items to the arsenal of making you look top notch. The use of display stands with use of a monitor or computer. The incorporation of electronics to your printing needs is a great choice.

Things to consider when planning your booth at an event:

  • ·         Make sure you have capabilities to support the display stands that you are purchasing.
  • ·         When bringing an electronic device, make sure you have sufficient enough electricity for your lights and your computer.

  • ·         Make sure that your electronics are the proper size for your banner stands.

o   Because there are so many different sizes of tablets and monitors, it would be a shame to arrive on site and discover you have the wrong connections or the wrong equipment to hold your electronics.

·         Know your audience do you know how many you need your booth or your signage to reach.
Once you get people to notice you, make sure you have enough handouts or items to give out … think outside the box! Give them something that they can keep on their desk as a reminder, “Hey … maybe I should call ______.”

Plan on signage that you can tote around, pack away relatively quickly and something that is easy to manage.

Take the time, figure out if you want a fitted look, or if you want to go with more sleek in your trade show or conference. See what is available, visit OvernightDisplays.com and see our available signs, and displays that we can get to your next event!

It’s a Branding Thing

Brand consistency is something that every company encounters problems with. From making sure that the Marketing, Sales, Website and employees are all putting out the same information and working together to build the brand. Holding events or going to events is a place that you want to make sure that you have matching and constancy.

When planning the event, meet with your team for a general theme and look. Make sure that it will be memorable and inviting. Think of your audience, will they understand and feel excited to be at your event? What will it look like on printed materials?

Make the space stunning. Plan to take the appropriate signage for the space. There is fine line between cluttered and overwhelming signage and branding to … “Is this where the event is?” Make sure you hover in the middle. When planning direction signs, walk your space, if you think there is an option for your group to head the wrong direction or have a nice space for a sign, then you might want to plan on putting a sign there. (Make sure your most important is at the top! Eye level and above) There will be a crowd and having your important information easy to see is best, so your group is  not put off or annoyed because they missed a break out session or meeting because they did not see the sign.

Matching your marketing to all aspects that your group or clients see is something obvious but not everyone has mastered. Match your emails, banners, signs, videos, flyers, workbooks to your theme. If this is a special event or product launch make sure to include it in the marketing. Nothing worse than having a sign or printed item that does not make sense as to why it is there.

PROOF!! Proof all material before sending it off to print, multiple times. Put your best foot forward at you event, having a sign that is misspelled or has the wrong phone number or website is a ding against your event and company. It is best to just take that extra time and proof and proof again to be sure, dial all phone numbers, double check websites.

When following these quick steps your event is sure to have a great look and feel. If you are not sure what pieces to get or which signage to use or items that you can re-use at multiple events, click through the catalog, email or call us. (855) 903-2500 or od@overnightdisplays.com.

A, B, C’s of Tradeshows and Conference Signage

Gearing up for your next trade show or conference is a stressful time. You need to figure out who is speaking, who will represent your brand the best, what you will say or that your speaker to say. One area that tends to be forgotten about or overlooked is the event signage. Know your space, you want your clients to know that this is your company and your event. There is signage for almost every area you need.

a. Hanging banners – for tall rooms or long hallways, you want to give the right impression. Using a hanging display or banner you can advertise you company, or use multiple banners to deliver a message to your audience.

b. Pop-up Displays – will help distinguish your brand and get your brands message out there. In a trade show setting these can double as a booth or a room divider. Having the proper wording and look it can make the difference.

c. Pull-up Retractable banner stands – are very useful, they can be used for advertising your company or product, or can be used as directional signage or simply to bran your event. Use pull-up retractable signage as a menu of your services, or as an acknowledgement or for a testimonial for your brand.

Whatever your need is for signage there is solution for any occasion. Pull out the floor plan or walk the space and figure out what signs will fit and where they should be placed for best usage. Make sure if you need lighting for your Pop-up Displays or cases that you have the proper outlets available within reach. Give yourself some time to get the signage designed, and submitted with time to get it to your venue.
